How does one join JetCafe?

Remote membership

Currently JetCafe only offers "Bring your own Net" remote membership. To become a remote member, there is a $100 initiation fee and $20 monthly fee for access.

• E-mail forwarding and hosting services, including a POP account (i.e. you@jetcafe.org) with a permanent email address. JetCafe email addresses have been around since 1995.
• Domain Name Service (DNS) for your domain
• A WWW server to host your home pages on with no size quota (limited only by available disk space), MODPERL, and self-signed SSL.
• Your own virtual domain which may be used to host pages not associated with JetCafe or to get mail at a different domain than jetcafe.org.
• A shell account on a JetCafe machine
• Two votes in the JetCafe cooperative which can be used to elect board members and help determine policy.

To join JetCafe, follow this process:

1. Read the membership requirements and the legal male bovine fecal matter and make sure you understand and agree to both.
2. Fill out the membership application
3. Send your application and check to:

High bandwith connectivity

Higher bandwidth connections (e.g. ISDN, Wireless) are possible, but require discussion as to a fair rate of exchange. JetCafe direct access membership is a shared cost model, which means you pay a percent of costs based on the bandwidth you use. You also become a "dialin member" for purposes of voting on issues (5 votes). Ask us for details.

Co-location

Co-locating (having your own server machine at the JetCafe studios) is handled the same as high bandwidth.
